Orthodontics

Orthodontic treatment (braces) is a way of straightening or moving teeth and is normally carried out during the teenage years, when the jaws are going through a period of growth. However, many adults have this treatment to straighten their crooked teeth or to improve their appearance.

Orthodontics improves the appearance and function of teeth while at the same time make it easier to clean them properly. Teeth that don't meet together properly can put strain on muscles and can lead to jaw problems and even headaches. It can help to look after your teeth, gums and jaw joints by spreading the biting pressure over all teeth.  For cosmetic reasons, clear or plastic braces can be used, which are hardly noticeable. However, this type of treatment in adults can take much longer and is therefore more expensive.
